Eco-Spirituality Dogsledding Retreat
February 6-9, 2014
Wintergreen Dogsled Lodge
Imagine the thrill of gliding through the northwoods behind a team of dogs, warming yourself up next to a roaring fire as the wind howls outside and engaging in meaningful conversation with other women. What's not to love?! (See photos from last year's trip on Facebook.) This 4 day adventure includes time for reflection, prayer and discussion about our lives. Come to explore and experience the connection of the Holy and the natural world. Give yourself the gift of time and join us for this exciting retreat in the woods!
Wintergreen Dogsled Lodge was co-founded in 1987 by SJU alum Paul Schurke ’77 and is located on White Iron Lake near the Boundary Waters. Schurke is best known for his 1986 trailblazing expedition to the North Pole with arctic explorer Will Steger and their dogsledding team. Wintergreen Lodge is the world’s most foremost recreational dog sledding center and the only known resort in the world exclusively devoted to dog mushing. It has been featured by PBS, the Travel Channel and National Geographic to name a few and is continuously ranked among the top adventure lodges in the nation.
Age and Experience: People ages 5-85 have enjoyed this adventure trip. Most guests have never dogsledded before (and some have never even seen snow!). No experience or special gear is needed. Clothing and gear available for rent.
